Barclaycard US, a subsidiary of Barclays’ global retail banking division, and Cartera Commerce, a US-based provider of multi-channel shopping services have teamed up to launch a new shopping platform.

The newly launched shopping program is set to enable Barclaycard cardholders to earn discounts, rewards, miles and cash back for purchases at participating in-store, local and online retailers. The shopping platform, dubbed Barclaycard RewardsBoost, inlcudes co-branded card programs such as Barnes & Noble, Carnival Cruise Lines, L.L.Bean, NFL and Travelocity, leveraging Carteras loyalty shopping platform and large multi-channel merchant network.

In January 2011, Cartera Commerce and US in-store merchant-funded rewards company Vesdia have signed a definitive merger agreement. The combined company is expected to retain the Cartera Commerce brand and serve roughly 150 million consumers. Moreover, the new company is expected to power eight US card issuers, three financial institutions and three airlines companies.

Carteras platform provides card-linked offers via multiple digital marketing channels including websites, online banking, email, mobile, social media and browser apps.
