Xoom acquires BlueKite for cross-border bill pay

US-based digital money transfer provider Xoom has acquired BlueKite for USD 15 million in cash and equity. Guatemala City-based BlueKite has built a technology platform for cross-border bill payments and mobile phone top-ups.

Xoom provides digital money transfer from mobile phones, tablets and PCs in 31 countries. The acquisition of BlueKite will allow Xoom to add mobile phone top-up and cross-border bill payments to its money transfer service.

In recent news, Xoom has launched its money transfer service to Vietnam.
