Tuesday 1 October 2013 09:31 CET | News

German provider of electronic payment and risk management services Wirecard has entered a strategic agreement with US mobile commerce technology company CorFire, to allow near field communications service (NFC) to enable mobile payments across Europe.

Under the agreement, Wirecard’s products and services have integrated CorFire’s MPSA, an NFC API stack that allows mobile apps to support NFC services such as Visa payWave. In addition, Wirecard has launched its own Trusted Service Manager (TSM) using CorFire’s CorTSM product to enable NFC payment for its Visa stored value account products.

CorFire offers mobile technology platforms to financial institutions, mobile network operators (MNOs), payment processors, card issuers and retailers. Its three core technology offerings include its TSM platform, a mobile wallet offering and a suite of mobile marketing services.

Wirecard is an international provider of electronic payment and risk management services. Worldwide, the Wirecard Group supports over 12,000 companies from various industry segments in their efforts to automate their payment processes and minimize cases of default.

In recent news, Wirecard Technologies GmbH, a subsidiary of Wirecard AG, has joined the SAP PartnerEdge program and is cooperating in the field of payment services.
