VeriSign NetDiscovery Services Deployed by Rural Cellular Corporation

Rural Cellular Corporation (RCC) has executed an agreement for VeriSign NetDiscovery Service to help ensure compliance of RCCs wireless services with the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).VeriSigns NetDiscovery Service will support RCCs wireless network infrastructure, allowing RCC to meet CALEA compliance through an outsourced model which minimizes capital and operational expenditures. To implement the service, VeriSign is working with the wireless network infrastructure vendors supplying to RCC to integrate the end-to-end NetDiscovery Services RCCs announcement underscores VeriSigns commitment to provide carriers and service providers with the necessary services to provide integrated voice communications services while complying with CALEA. CALEA requires carriers to assist Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in lawfully authorized surveillance. To comply, carriers often have to purchase dedicated hardware, retain trained operation staff, and maintain connectivity with a variety of LEAs. VeriSigns NetDiscovery Services greatly streamlines the CALEA-compliance requirements and reduces the need to purchase costly equipment.
