SumUp is set to allow small businesses across Brazil to accept a number of credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and ELO, with their smartphones or tablets using the SumUp Chip & Signature Card Reader.
SumUp is mPOS start-up authorised as a Payment Institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV) and PCI-DSS certified.
Launched in August 2012, SumUp has extended into 11 countries across Europe and is currently expanding globally with a team of aroun 140 people from 26 nations. The company has major offices in London, Berlin, Dublin and Moscow. SumUp is backed by American Express, BBVA Ventures, Groupon and other renowned venture capital investors.
In recent news, SumUp has cut its transaction fee to 1.95 percent for all debit and credit card transactions, including MasterCard and Visa, down from previously 2.75 percent.
