Samsung Pay to roll out in South Africa

Thursday 24 August 2017 09:13 CET | News

Samsung has announced is testing Samsung Pay and plans to launch it later this year in South Africa.

The announcement comes after it added support for PayPal as a payment method. To use PayPal with Samsung Pay, users add their PayPal account to the app – after which they can spend their balance.

More than that, the company said the partnership lets merchants using Braintree Direct integrate Samsung Pay as a payment method. Samsung said PayPal support will be available for all Samsung Pay users in the US and will expand to other countries soon.
