Germany-based information technology company Rubean and Global Payments Europe (GPE) have announced successfully expanding Rubean's PhonePOS core business for small and mobile merchants in Hungary.

GPE is a subsidiary of payment technology and software solutions provider Global Payments. Rubean is currently growing its mobile point-of-sale terminal solution PhonePOS, which was developed in cooperation with financial services company CCV. To pay using PhonePOS technology, users can hold their card up to the reader of the delivery person who installed the PhonePOS app.

PhonePOS enables every merchant with an Android device to download the app from the Google Play Store and to accept contactless card payments immediately, without an extra card reader. PhonePOS is certified according to PCI-CPoC and therefore has unlimited worldwide approval. According to a GPE representative, the company plans to introduce Rubean's PhonePOS solution in other markets. Rubean will present PhonePOS at the Money2020 conference in Las Vegas from 24 to 27 October 2021 at booth K1925.
