The program has started at select restaurants and will be expanded to nearly 6,000 iPads throughout Newark Liberty International’s Terminal C as part of a USD 120 million transformation of the United gateway.
Customers will be able to scan their boarding passes or enter their MileagePlus number on any of the almost 6,000 iPads that will be installed throughout the terminal’s restaurants, bars and gate areas. The iPads display the customer’s up-to-date flight information and provide dining or beverage options in up to 20 different languages, with the cost of items displayed in both dollars and miles, along with the customer’s MileagePlus balance.
At checkout, customers can choose to pay with award miles. And with OTG’s 2U program, customers are also set to be able to order travel amenities delivered right to their seats and pay with award miles.
