The frame agreement contract covers MTS in Russia and all its subsidiaries, with LogicaCMG providing software and hardware, systems integration and helping create the operators service delivery platform. LogicaCMGs Next Generation Messaging solutions will now enable the operator to offer innovative and high value multimedia services to its 35.9 million subscriber base. The contract will immediately see LogicaCMG upgrading MTS existing LogicaCMG Short Message Service Centre (SMSC), LogicaCMG Wireless Service Brokers (WSBs), and Multimedia Messaging Service Centres (MMSCs), as well as over time introducing new value added services to the operators messaging portfolio. The first phase of MTS investments in LogicaCMGs Next Generation Messaging solutions exceeds 2 million, and is an integral part of the companys ambitious strategy to increase its data services revenues from both consumer and corporate subscribers. Once the implementation of the LogicaCMG solutions is complete in the first quarter of 2005, many of MTS subscribers will be able to use high-quality, premium-priced multimedia services such as picture messaging as well as download ringtones and wallpapers. MTS subscribers will also have the freedom of sending MMS content to any mobile network and any device due to the leading interconnect and transcoding functionality of LogicaCMGs messaging solutions. Transcoding, the process of adapting content to resolve incompatibilities among mobile devices, ensures that content is tailored to the physical and technical specifications of any receiving device. As MTS multimedia services attract more subscribers, LogicaCMGs high-performance, high availability MMS solution offers the scalability to maintain the service quality that users demand from MMS services.
