Indian buses to use PAX mobile terminals for electronic ticketing

PAX Technology, a global provider of electronic payment terminals, has teamed up with solutions provider Trimax in India to supply 10,000 mobile devices to enable electronic fare ticketing in Bangalore.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is the sole public bus transport provider for Bangalore. PAXs mobile S90 terminal was selected as a future device offering GPRS communications, Visa payWave and Mastercard PayPass contactless, as well as the latest PCI 3.x and EMV certifications.

Trimax is a provider of a range of IT solutions and services including IT infrastructure services and turnkey solutions, data centre services and cloud computing services. The company is focused on implementing government projects and the automation of public services with particular focus on both the transportation and banking and financial services sectors.
