HybridPaytech teams up with Vodafone

Thursday 22 August 2013 13:09 CET | News

US-based mobile payment services provider Hybrid Paytech, a division of mobile credit and PIN debit payment company Freeport Capital, has selected Vodafones machine-to-machine (M2M) platform to provide connectivity for its mobile payment service.

The service allows businesses to equip mobile employees with smartphones or tablets that can process credit and debit card payments globally using Vodafones network.

Vodafone will provide global M2M SIM cards, remote device management tools and secure, worldwide connectivity for the mobile payment devices.

The service includes mobile applications for Apple, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry smartphones and tablets, which can support credit and debit payments through plug and play card-reading equipment. Alternatively, businesses can use standard mobile payment terminals. The encrypted transactions are sent from the mobile device over Vodafones network to HybridPaytechs regional switch, which then authorises the payment through the debit or credit card provider.

In recent news, Hybrid Paytech has entered a strategic alliance with KoamTac, a trading and consulting company, to offer mobile payment services.
