Ericsson powers MTN Rwanda mobile money service

Global mobile telecom company Ericsson has entered a definitive agreement with mobile telecommunications services provider MTN Rwanda.

Under the terms of the agreement, MTN Rwanda has deployed Ericsson Converged Wallet mobile commerce solution. The launch brings mobile financial services to MTN Rwanda`s subscribers, including mobile phone users that do not have access to traditional banking services. Ericsson is providing the operator with a mobile commerce solution that includes Ericsson Converged Wallet, systems integration and operational support.

Ericsson Converged Wallet enables MTN Rwanda to introduce enhanced mobile wallet end-user services to its mobile money customers. With Ericsson Converged Wallet, MTN can launch offers and bundles that integrate telecom prepaid services with mobile money services.

In recent news, Western Union has certified the global mobile telecom company Ericsson’s Wallet Platform.
