Cloud-based ecommerce company, uAfrica.com, has raised USD 1.5 million in funding round, itwebafrica.com reports.

The funding has been raised by online bidding website, bidorbuy.com, and private South African investor, Andy Higgins, who is the managing director of uAfrica.com and the founder and former managing director of bidorbuy.co.za.

Meanwhile, a press release, cited by the same source, states that uAfrica.com has been operating in the ecommerce space since 2004, but the company rebranded from ‘Jump Shopping’ to ‘uAfrica’ after Higgins joined the team in 2012.
