Friday 13 April 2018 10:27 CET | News

Spotify has announced in a press release that it has acquired Loudr, a company that builds services for digital music services to identify, track and pay royalties to music publishers.

Loudr uses technology that matches sound recordings with compositions and music publishers, making it possible to license digital downloads and interactive streams, as well as pay rights holders for usage.

The acquisition will help Spotify better manage royalty payments an area in which the company struggled before.

According to the press release, Loudr’s team of publishing specialists and technologists will join Spotify’s New York offices. The company will continue to provide select services to its publishing and aggregator partners.
