Kenya to launch e-procurement system

Friday 20 June 2014 09:20 CET | News

The Kenyan government has announced that starting with July 2014, all government tenders, bids and contracts in the country will be posted online via the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS).

With IFMIS, the government will announce all tenders online rather than in newspaper advertisements. Bids will be posted publicly, contracts are set to be awarded with transparency and contract payments will be made electronically.

Once the system is adopted, suppliers wishing to transact business with the government will have to do so through by registering their company profiles online.
