Fraud prevention (measures)
Fraud prevention measures encompass a solid framework for the generation of anti-fraud alerts (internally developed) and a dedicated team of anti-fraud investigators performing analysis of these events. The investigation process is  supported by IT infrastructure to give investigators a holistic view of merchants' profile and transactional behaviour. Besides, a series of anti-fraud measures is also available to restrict transfers of funds under consideration. Some of them include: reserve of particular transactions, blocking the transfer of available funds, deferred settlement of sales transactions for a number of days, rolling reserves for a percentage of sales transactions to be held for a period of time. The anti-fraud alerts generation framework is complemented by a  transaction limit checking process, VISA TC40 and Mastercard SAFE programs notifications, internally developed blacklist notifications, and global validation checks like checks of criminals' databases.

Fraud prevention partners
A number of services provided by fraud prevention partners are utilised in combination with the internally developed controls:
  • email address information and related fields auto-evaluation that is used to holistically and comprehensively score email addresses with regard to fraud probability;

  • registration of customers’ known safe devices to their accounts to check every time a customer logs in, if the device is authorised for that account or exhibits risk signals such as geolocation anomalies, data inconsistencies, anonymising proxies, TOR networks, and other evasion methods;

  • the person’s identity assessment is enhanced with automated document verification, including biometrics and bearer’s liveness examination.
