Oberthur Card Systems has been selected by Société Générale Group to manufacture and personalize more than half of its worldwide payment card portfolio together with Credit du Nord Group’s card portfolio.

The two years agreement governs France and Societe Generale’s main branches in Eastern Europe and Africa. This latest success gives Oberthur Card Systems a competitive edge to enter new markets. The company already benefits from a long standing expertise in the payment sector - its knowledge of market issues and the strong mobilization of its industrial and human resources make Oberthur Card Systems an undisputed leader in the payment market. Case in point, the company works very closely with its customers at every stage of the EMV migration program and helps them in their review process and the implementation of this new international standard. The EMV migration is also an opportunity for banking institutions to outsource the personalization of their payment cards. Oberthur Card Systems has therefore reinforced its capacity to provide local personalization services by investing in the development of its personalization facilities in the UK, France, Benelux, Spain and Italy and more recently in Hungary and Brazil.
