Paymentwall integrates Vietnam's domestic card network NAPAS

Monday 14 December 2020 11:39 CET | News

Paymentwall has integrated NAPAS, the local domestic card network in Vietnam, enabling payments with national debit cards online.

Merchants who want to take advantage of this can integrate Paymentwall and enable NAPAS in their control panel and start monetizing Vietnamese users with no additional contract and no additional API integration.

Through a single API integration with Paymentwall, merchants in Europe, the US, Latin America, Australia, Russia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East will be able to process NAPAS payments in Vietnam alongside any of over 150 supported payment methods at the flick of a switch, without the need for a local entity in Vietnam.

The National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) provides financial switching services and electronic clearing services in Vietnam, enabling customers to perform payments via NAPAS-branded domestic debit cards. The switching system serves over 100 million cardholders of 48 domestic and international commercial banks operating in Vietnam with over 2.8 million transactions per day, processing on average USD 900 million.

To make a payment with NAPAS, customers can input NAPAS debit card details in the checkout and confirm the payment using an OTP code sent by the issuing bank. NAPAS supports all major banks in Vietnam, including VietinBank, Agribank, Vietcombank, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), SHB, Techcombank, Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB), Maritime Bank, and VP Bank, among others.
