Barclaycard cardholders will earn Reward Money (1 percent in most participating outlets and 0.5 percent at Shell) when using their card to make a purchase at participating retailers, with no need to register or receive a new card. According to a statement released by the company, Barclaycard Freedom will enable customers to earn and redeem rewards, in pounds and pence, automatically at tens of thousands of small and medium retailers. Cardholders can view their Reward Money account by logging onto mybarclaycard. Thus, they will be able to check their Reward Money balance. The list transactions where Reward Money has been earned or redeemed will also be displayed.
In addition to Shell, npower and Pizza Express, other retailers and partners participating in the reward scheme include LA Fitness; Yo! Sushi; Firebox.com; Goldsmiths, Nationwide Autocentres; Gourmet Burger Kitchen; Flight Centre; Balls Brothers; BSM; Just Tyres and F Hinds.
