Irish-based authentication technology provider ValidSoft has entered a partnership with US payments services provider Spindle to provide payments security services to US consumers.

Under the agreement, ValidSoft is set to provide Spindle with its authentication and transaction verification technology dubbed SMART (Secure Mobile Architecture for Real-time Transactions), which is set to be integrated into Spindle's RhinoVerify security service.

Spindle's RhinoVerify service is a verification process that uses instant messaging, SMS and other technologies to authenticate purchases and transactions. It works for transactions including mobile commerce, e-commerce and traditional retail.

Spindle delivers payment services that enable buyers, sellers and individuals to transact face-to-face or virtually using mobile or internet devices. A pioneer in Frictionless Finance, the company develops services for companies and end consumers to transact and exchange funds regardless of platform.

ValidSoft is a subsidiary of Elephant Talk Communications and provides solutions to counter electronic fraud relating to card, the internet, and telephone channels. ValidSoft's solutions are used to verify the authenticity of both parties to a transaction (Mutual Authentication), and the integrity of the transaction itself (Transaction Verification) for the mass market.

In recent news, ValidSoft has joined Get Safe Online, a joint initiative between the UK government, law enforcement, businesses and the public to provide computer users and small businesses with advice to protect themselves from internet threats.
