Viableware enables PayPal payments on RAIL platform

Tuesday 1 October 2013 13:00 CET | News

US-based technology provider Viableware has unveiled that PayPal payments will be accepted on the RAIL payment platform, a mobile payment device that enables full-service restaurants to accept various forms of payment at the table.

Dickie Brennan’s latest New Orleans restaurant, Tableau, will be the first live implementation of the combined payment technologies.

Viableware’s RAIL is a handheld device which allows guests to self-swipe credit or debit cards, auto-calculate the tip, split the bill multiple ways, pay-by-item and direct-email receipts. The RAIL payment platform integrates with restaurant POS systems from MICROS, NCR Aloha, and Dinerware and has been certified to the security standards of 11 payment processors.

In recent news, Viableware has secured USD 6.5 million in Series B funding round led by a syndicate of angel investors and included participation from investment company Swiftsure Capital.
